Mozilla is a huge community of people working together, as a non-profit organization, to build open source software. If you're someone who goes to sleep at the mention of things like "software" or "open source", then do your best to read on because this particular project is really important for the future of the Internet as a whole.
Mozilla creates the FireFox web browser, which is one of the best around - along with Google's Chrome. From the perspective of web developers, FireFox and Chrome are far easier to work with to create quality websites for you and I to browse. Because it is open source, they are also able to respond to security breaches more quickly and efficiently - if you're not using FireFox yet, then I suggest you go along and give it a try.
As well as Firefox and the ever popular firebug (which helps webmasters fix problems with their websites quickly and easily), Mozilla is also responsible for Thunderbird, which is an open source email client, similar to Outlook (but free, and packed full of goodies such as intelligent spam filters).
As an avid fan of quality open-source software and communities, I can, without hesitation, recommend Mozilla to anyone and everyone. But then, I'm preaching to the converted because the latest FireFox was the most downloaded piece of software in a single day in history.
