Good reads is a website that I recommend highly - even for people who are only casual readers. For me, one of the biggest hurdles I need to overcome is finding something I am interested in enough to devote hours to reading. Now, that's easy to do with a great book; but it's almost impossible to know beforehand which book will be good and which won't.

Good reads allows you to tap into what your friends and connections are reading, their reviews and ratings, and discuss books of mutual interest. This can really help to inspire you to pick up the next book and get reading.

Anything that can genuinely encourage people to sit down and read has got to be a good thing, right?
