The consumerist is a well presented, powerful resource for informing oneself about contemporary consumer related issues. If you have a gripe about how you have been treated by a company, or want to share a positive experience , or even want to find out if a "too good to be true" offer is genuine, then this is the place to come and find that out.

The consumerist takes their role of watchdog and a source of unbias opinion and information seriously; to the point where they don't even accept advertising revenue as it could conceivably lead to a conflict of interest.

Apart from opinions and scam or fraud exposes there's actually a lot of interesting retail and consumer stats and information available. At the time of writing, for example, there was an interesting article discussing the apparent demise (or at least, serously decline - approx 11%) in the demand for print material.
