What it's all about: A collection of sites that I use regularly as part of my writing...
WordSmyth
Wordsmyth is a great dictionary and thesaurus. I find that I generally use the synonym feature to explore the best way to construct complex sentences... there's a lot of useful features, that notwithstanding.
Amazon
Amazon is one of the most important and useful sales channels for my books. It's a great indicator of overall uptake and response to a new title...
RankTracer
RankTracer tracks sales on Amazon. It's the only site in the world that generates sales estimates from an analysis of the sales rank over time and this unique features combines nicely with strong graphing, reporting, feeds and more. I use it track all of my books and my competitors'.
Wikipedia
Wikipedia isn't necessarily a writing site, but it's one of the best online research tools around. If its general knowledge you're after, this is the site to visit.
1000 Literary Agents
Does what it says on the tin - provides a great resource for finding literary agents.
Absolute Write - Water Cooler
Make use of the absoute write forums for learning about the who's who of publishing. There are a lot of queries and answers about agents and its useful to check up on this site to see if the person you're dealing with is legit.
